How do you typically feel as you begin the new year?
Often there can be a sense of running full speed into the festive season, being busy over that holiday and then beginning the new year depleted and ready for a break. Many are feeling after the pause experienced during the pandemic that life has quickly become incredibly busy again.
…it can seem these days that time is a luxury. Join us and take time to step through a curtain and arrive on the other side in a beautiful house by the side of a river in beautiful Perthshire where you can rest & relax in beautiful cosy surroundings and be nourished and nurtured. Enjoy gentle movement, meditation, time in nature, nourishing food cooked by our retreat chef, enjoyable group sessions and plenty of free time.
You can read books without interruption, stroll by the river, sit by the fire and while you are here there are no appointments to be kept, no insistent beeps from phones or computers because you are officially on retreat…

This is YOUR time to REST!
I created this retreat for women like you….
Many years ago I was exhausted, tests showed I was in adrenal fatigue and the advice was to radically change my life style or risk chronic fatigue or other health conditions. I was already working in health & wellbeing, it was a surprise to me that I wasn’t actually looking after myself and my energy as well as I thought I was.
This was a beginning of my rest journey. An exploration into how to rest.
Resting, surely that should be the easiest thing in the world?
Well potentially yes but … sometimes the habit of being busy, always switched on, constantly reacting to life is so strong that rest feels elusive. We sit down to rest but before we know it we unconsciously reaching for our phone or watching something on TV that is far from restful or our mind is racing and constantly turning over the events of the day or worrying about a life challenge or difficulty. Our nervous system may be in ‘fight or flight’ so when we rest it can feel challenging. Are we actually resting?
For me I found resting at home particularly challenging as a business owner and mum of two, home was a place where there was always something to be done. I’d try to meditate aware there was a pile of ironing to be done or it was time to get dinner on.
Then there is the messaging and beliefs we’ve picked up about rest and self care. I often felt guilty if I wasn’t doing something and trying to rest when thinking you really shouldn’t be isn’t ideal.
One of the places I was able to find deep rest and retrain my strung out nervous system was on retreat. To have some time completely removed from my day to day, where I didn’t have to plan dinner and the only ‘work’ to be done was to rest and allow and heal was a game changer for me.
That experience, and all I learned from it together with all the knowledge I have gained in training in many healing modalities over the years I want to share with you. I’ve allowed myself to rest, to explore different ways of resting, in nature, on retreat, with various tools & techniques. I want to share my insights and experiences with you. I want you to feel well rested too and to see you in the joy of living your life from a well rested place. I want you to meet your well rested woman and begin 2023 from a whole new place.

Resting is not just ‘a nice to have’ it’s a necessity
Stress is natural and necessary sometimes, it helps us get things done. We are designed though for ‘short sprints’ of stress where we have recovery time rather than the marathon of chronic stress some people experience. Chronic stress suppresses our immune system and increases our risk of disease
Rest when we purposefully and successfully ‘do it’ may help to…
Reduce stress & anxiety
Improve mood
Decrease blood pressure
Help us deal with pain
Improve our immune system
Improve the health of our cardio system
Improve mental health
Boost creativity
Boost productivity
Your retreat starts as soon as you book your place…
Often January can be a time where we reluctantly head back out in to the world after rushing in to Christmas, the busyness the festive season often brings and sometimes the over indulgence. We may hope to begin the new year differently perhaps making resolutions or a vision board. Simply by making your booking you are choosing for something else. Choosing to rest and review the year that has been, sink in to the space in-between while relaxing and restoring your energy levels before intentionally choosing how to begin the new year. Taking time to pause before stepping into the year ahead we are in a much better place to meet the demands of life, to give to others and to be the creator of the year ahead.
Subconscious Reprogramming
30 days before the beginning of your retreat you will be sent a deeply relaxing hypnotherapy audio to listen to regularly before your retreat. Your hypnotherapy audio will help you begin to relax and prepare for your retreat experience. For the Rest to Rise retreat, the hypnosis will focus on becoming clear of what we wish to let go of and call in as we move into the new year. It also helps to prepare you for rest. Hypnotherapy is a wonderful way to help you make significant and positive changes in a relatively short period of time. The hypnotherapy audio will help you move into this new chapter positively and is deeply nourishing. It might be lovely to listen do as you drift off to sleep.
